Halele'a Spa At The St. Regis Princeville Resort
The Halele‘a Spa, Hawaii’s premier spa destination, is one of the signature amenities at The St. Regis Princeville, the island’s luxurious new resort. The Halele‘a (“House of Joy”) Spa, which opened on October 1, 2009 along with the resort, occupies a 11,000 square foot space and is a masterpiece of style and refinement. The Halele‘a Spa honors the Spirit of Aloha by offering guests the tailored and personalized service of St. Regis while embracing Kaua‘i’s pure, natural resources and authentic Hawaiian healing traditions.
The Halele‘a Spa sets a new standard for elegance and luxury on the island of Kaua‘i. The spa features 12 luxurious treatment rooms with a dedicated room for couples’ services featuring an experiential cascading shower for two, Vichy treatments and a VIP Maile treatment room. Each spacious treatment room is enriched with custom millwork of native Hawaiian woods, palm wood floors, natural fiber drapery treatments and a custom Murano glass plumeria flower chandelier. Using only the finest interior finishes, the interiors provide a sense of peace and a place commensurate with the island’s transcendent beauty.
The Halele‘a Spa is known for delivering the most exclusive and luxurious treatments on Hawaii, including such unique experiences as the Kaua‘i Taro clay wrap, the Taro butter Pohaku hot stone massage and the Voyage from the Sea Signature Four Hands massage and facial where guests can enjoy a seaweed extract massage and marine repair facial treatment simultaneously. Traditional Hawaiian medicine includes the use of both botanical and ocean related resources and Kaua‘i’s abundant water sources, both the fresh water of the interiors and salt water of the ocean surrounding the island, are used to promote health and well-being. The resort is located near where the Hanalei River, a fresh water source, joins with the salt water of the Pacific Ocean and the theme of water in the spa are found not only in the treatments, but in the guest experience, including steam rooms infused with essential oils and aromatherapy cold compresses to clear the senses as well as cascading showers which reference the many natural waterfalls on the island.

Using the finest indigenous ingredients, including fresh flower petals, taro root, wild ginger, coffee berry and Kaua‘i clay, these products celebrate the lush interior of Kaua’i. Drawing in the ocean and salt water, the Halele‘a Spa features VOYA products, an 100% certified organic beauty and body treatment range made using hand-harvested seaweed from the Atlantic Ocean off the Northwest coast of Ireland. VOYA Body Treatment range is based on Seaweed baths that have been practiced in Ireland for hundreds of years. The benefits of seaweed and its extracts are numerous and can be attributed to the great wealth of minerals and vitamins that it contains. The Halele‘a Spa is also working with the celebrated Kinara skincare product line. Guests can relax in their own personal VIP Maile room complete with oversize soaking tub, overhead rain shower, personalized pedicure station and individual lounge, or can simply take advantage of the co-ed lounge relaxation room before their treatments. The tranquil relaxation lounge features wall to wall waterfalls, surrounding guests with the peaceful sound of falling water. All treatments come with access to a soothing private men and women or co-ed lounges, which feature wall-to-wall waterfalls and guardianship from the statue, Hina the beautiful Hawaiian goddess skilled in the medicine of the sea. Before and after treatments, guests can relax in the wet areas which include a sauna and steam room.
The Halele‘a Spa experience extends beyond the traditional spa treatment rooms, with exclusive poolside offerings. Guests may enjoy outdoor ocean-side massages in the special Spa Cabana as well as the resort’s unique “mini-services,” fifteen to thirty minute poolside treatments. A selection of massages – scalp, hand and foot – are offered as a chaise lounge poolside service. These mini-services allow guests to have a taste of the Halele‘a Spa experience while basking in the Hawaiian sunshine. The poolside services are highlighted on the pool menu so guests may order everything from an avocado salad to a twenty minute hand massage.
The spa also features a salon and state-of-the-art 24 hour fitness center Techno Gym and personal Kinesis equipment. The fitness center is a bi-level design with the top floor housing the cardio equipment and featuring views out across Hanalei Bay. The salon offers a wide range of beauty treatments including manicures, pedicures, hair and makeup and is equipped with a large styling area which can be reserved for private use, ideal for bridal parties.
