“Flower Power” Forget those cheesy silk flower lei. The St.Regis Princeville's coveted hibiscus pin is one souvenir that you won't want to take off. Created by Alexis Bittar-whose designs enjoy a cult following sprinkled with names such as Madonna, Miley Cyrus, Cameron Diaz, Karl Lagerfeld and Madeline Albright-the new bauble is an exclusive piece that was designed to commemorate the opening of the resort. Although it vaguely resembles a hibiscus and is described as the "national flower of Hawai'i" (even though Hawai'i isn't a nation) the piece is to be adored for its center of crystal gems and petals dripping with purple and yellow hues. The hand-sculpted and painted pin makes use of the Lucite and color-play that the one-time Burberry jewelry designer is known for. "It was easy to find inspiration in the majestic setting of Kaua'i," explains Bittar. Those island panoramas will benefit from the pin's sales since proceeds will be donated to the Limahuli Garden and Preserve. While the St.Regis is set to open in the fall, this exclusive brooch is available now at Bittar's boutique in New York and Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills. alexisbittar.com-L.T.
